Sapphire FUE in Turkey: What the Blade Changes, Cost and Results
Last updated: November 7, 2026 · By the Editorial Team · Editorial guide, not sponsored
Short answer: Sapphire FUE is standard FUE in which the small incisions that receive the grafts are made with a blade cut from synthetic sapphire instead of steel. In Turkey, all-inclusive Sapphire FUE packages cost $2,680–$6,500 (€2,390–€5,790) at the Ministry-authorized clinics whose prices we track. Harvesting, placement, recovery and results are the same as for FUE.
Many clinics in Turkey offer Sapphire FUE. This guide explains what the sapphire blade changes, what the research shows, how Sapphire FUE compares with FUE and DHI, and what it costs. We do not book treatment or take referral fees.

What is Sapphire FUE?
Every FUE procedure has a step called recipient site creation: the doctor makes small incisions in the thinning area, and each graft is later placed in one of them. The angle, direction, depth and spacing of these incisions decide how the new hair will grow. In Sapphire FUE, these incisions are made with a blade cut from synthetic sapphire instead of steel. Graft harvesting and placement do not change.
What the research shows
A 2021 study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology used geometric calculations, not patients, to compare the wound area made by micro-blades of different shapes and insertion angles. In that model, a 30-degree sapphire blade made the smallest wound and a rectangular blade the largest, and the wound area shrank as the blade entered at a flatter angle.
A 2021 paper in the Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery noted that there is no consensus on which instrument and slit design work best, and that blade shape, the angle of the incision and its orientation all affect how much the scalp’s blood vessels are disturbed.
In short, the sapphire blade is a sound tool, but there is no clear evidence that it grows more hair than well-made steel-blade incisions. How the incisions are planned and made matters more than the material of the blade.
Sapphire FUE vs FUE vs DHI
| Sapphire FUE | FUE | DHI | |

How much does Sapphire FUE cost in Turkey?
All-inclusive Sapphire FUE packages at the Ministry-authorized clinics whose prices we track cost $2,680–$6,500 (€2,390–€5,790) in November 2026, usually for 2,000–4,500 grafts. Packages usually include the procedure, 2–3 hotel nights, airport transfers, a patient coordinator, medication and aftercare products. Flights and travel insurance are extra.
The price difference between packages often reflects how many grafts are covered, hotel nights and which stages a senior doctor performs, rather than the blade alone. See our Turkey hair transplant cost guide for prices by technique and country.
Recovery and results
Recovery after Sapphire FUE is the same as after standard FUE. You go back to your hotel the same day, the clinic usually checks the grafts and gives the first wash within a day or two, and small crusts clear over the following days. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, transplanted hairs fall out between two and eight weeks after surgery, the area may look thinner around month three, and most people see results between six and nine months, with some taking up to 12 months.
As with any surgery, ask your doctor about possible side effects, such as swelling, infection, numbness or scarring, and how they would be handled after you return home. For a day-by-day timeline and aftercare rules, see our hair transplant recovery guide.
Questions to ask before you book Sapphire FUE
- Who will make the recipient incisions, and how will the hairline be designed?
- What blade sizes will you use for single-hair and multi-hair grafts?
- How many grafts does the package cover, and does the price change above that number?
- What is included in the package, and what costs extra?
- What follow-up do you offer once I am back home?

Frequently asked questions
How much does Sapphire FUE cost in Turkey?
All-inclusive Sapphire FUE packages at the Ministry-authorized clinics whose prices we track cost $2,680–$6,500 (€2,390–€5,790) in November 2026, usually for 2,000–4,500 grafts.
What is the difference between Sapphire FUE and standard FUE?
Only the recipient incisions differ. In Sapphire FUE they are made with a blade cut from synthetic sapphire instead of a steel blade or needle. Graft harvesting and placement are the same.
Does Sapphire FUE give better results?
A 2021 study that calculated wound size mathematically, without patients, found that a 30-degree sapphire blade made the smallest wound among the blade shapes tested, but there is no clear evidence that it grows more hair than well-made steel-blade incisions. Planning and the experience of the team matter more than the blade.
Is Sapphire FUE the same as DHI?
No. Sapphire FUE uses a sapphire blade to make the incisions before grafts are placed with forceps. DHI uses an implanter pen that makes the incision and places the graft in one motion.
How long is recovery after Sapphire FUE?
Recovery follows the same timeline as FUE: crusts clear within about two weeks, transplanted hairs shed between two and eight weeks, and most people see results between six and nine months, with the full result at around 12 months.
